"Yoga, an ancient but perfect science, deals with the evolution of humanity. This evolution includes all aspects of one's being, from bodily health to self-realization. Yoga means union - the union of body with consciousness and consciousness with the soul. Yoga cultivates the ways of maintaining a balanced attitude in day-to-day life and endows skill in the performance of one's actions."
~B.K.S. Iyengar, Astadala Yogamala
500 Hour, Yoga as Therapy Training:
This training is designed with the already teaching instructor in mind who is looking to expand their abilities to be able to effectively teach to students with specific physical and mental issues as well as to learn a more hands on approach to therapeutically guide students deeper into their bodies and the asana practice.
This flexible program starts May 2nd of 2009 and runs for 18 months. With approximately 20 hours of training a month consisting of one weekend and one weeknight over the month, trainees are allowed the flexibility to occasionally miss segments that conflict with their busy lives (we understand that people get married and kids have birthday and so on…) while still only paying the low few of 200 per month. That is a steal at $10 a training hour. Students not wishing to commit to the program can still take part in the training on a per diem basis as space allows. Cost varies but typically the weekends are $225 and the weeknights are $45. Hours can still be cumulatively applied to a certificate as long as all requirements have been met.
