Yoga as Neurotherapy Trainings

Like other forms of exercise, Yoga is well-known to benefit and balance the body and mind. But since Yoga is so much more than a workout, its ancient wisdom can be tailored to combat stress, depression, and mood & brain disorders. Our series of Yoga as Neurotherapy Trainings are led by Dr. Muhammed Absar, MD, a physician specializing in Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry, and a teaching faculty at Tufts University Medical School.

Combining breath (pranayama) with movement (asana), you will learn how to activate the central nervous system for therapeutic benefits in mental and physical wellness. Also discussed will be basic yoga philosophy and its relationship with brain anatomy pathways. Excellent for yoga instructors, doctors, teachers, social workers, and anyone struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, or mood/brain disorders, many introductory and advanced workshops are offered throughout the year, including:

  • Introduction to Transformational Yoga as Neurotherapy
  • Stress Management Clinic
  • Brain Disorders and Yoga Workshop
  • Pranayama as Neurotherapy
  • Transformational Yoga as Neurotherapy for Anxiety & Depression
  • Transformational Yoga as Neurotherapy for Huntingyon’s & Parkinson’s Diseases
