Teachers and Staff

Michelle Fleming found yoga and it saved her life. She stumbled into an Astanga class one afternoon and found it was the first thing that made her intense anxiety and depression dissipate. After tearing a ligament in her knee during class, she began to delve deeply in the anatomy behind the poses in an effort to find a safe and effective practice that retained the exhilarating flow she loved so much. These days she trains teachers and students to find a fluid pattern of movement that protects the joints while stretching the muscles and connective tissue and quieting the mind. She is the owner of Sanctuary Wellness Studios and founder of Equilibrium, a non-profit dedicated to bringing breathe, movement and nutrition education to young people with anxiety and mood disorders. After living and learning all over the country, she now teaches internationally, bringing her unique style of yoga to students of all levels, ages, shapes and sizes. Her clients have included such athletes as top ranked NHL players and The World Champion Women’s Squash player. She has been teaching for over 11 years and training other teachers for over 3 and believes it is a blessing to be able to bring people the gifts of a strong body, a quiet mind and a blissful spirit.

Certified 200 hr Yoga Teacher & Thai Massage Bodyworker Over 5 years ago training for the Duxbury Triathlon I injured my knees.  Running, biking & even swimming hurt so I had to do something different.  First, I found pilates. The instructor was so good (Lynn Gifford) decided to try her yoga class.  That first class was simply Divine and I never looked back.  As my practice grew teaching seemed the natural progression.  Now as a teacher (trained by the Queen of alignment & anatomy, our Michelle Fleming) guiding others to find the ease and comfort in their own body & minds is a gift.  My style?...Challenging advanced students to slow down and find strength while encouraging beginners to see that each step of an asana is part of the journey.  Wherever you are at is where you are supposed to be.  Breath into it and ENJOY!
Lauren completed the 200 Hour Transformational Yoga Teacher Training with Michelle Fleming in June 2011, and enjoys the balance that Yoga brings to her vegan, bicycle-riding, outdoors-exploring lifestyle. In addition to teaching Power Yoga, she is the webmaster for Sanctuary Studios and has a soft spot for computer problems.
After many years as a fitness instructor, Lesley found yoga after a running injury.  “I, like many, thought yoga was just about stretching and meditating, and I was a hard core sweat and muscle burn junkie. I was very misinformed. I believe yoga saved my body from furthering the injury to my knee and ankle. I have always been interested in the science of exercise and anatomy and yoga training has allowed me to deepen this study.” As she delved deeper into anatomy study, physiology and natural healing she was drawn to intricate workings of the human brain, and the mind-body connection philosophized in yoga teachings. An interest in brain and movement disorders has led her to focus on yoga therapy to help people improve their quality of life. She continues her study into brain and movement disorders while working with students with challenges such as Parkinson’s disease, cerebral palsy, Huntington’s diseases, and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Lesley is a lifelong equestrian and has been a licensed horseback riding instructor for nearly 30 years. She now incorporates her knowledge of balanced equitation with the core strength development of yoga and Pilates to give riders a competitive edge, or just to help them find a meditative practice that benefits both horse and rider. Recently, Lesley has also added Figure Skaters to her client base.
Lisa began taking yoga asana classes because of tension in her neck and shoulder. Lisa is currently 200 hour CYT, RYT with a certification also in children's yoga and working on her 500 hour-Yoga as Therapy training. Movement without pain and exploring the shadows within us to realize our true potential and purpose is a wonderful discovery. Continuously inspired and motivated to learn and teach... From restorative to power yoga and playing with Acro and Aerial yoga, Lisa has been lucky to learn from and become inspired by so many wonderful people who represent the many facets of the yoga community.

For more than 15 years, Tiffany Taves spent her time in the field of education. As a writer, professional speaker, trainer, coach and executive, she has extensive leadership experience in relationship and team building; hiring professional, sales and technical staff; strategic planning; change management, systems, and policy; and creating effective professional development programs. In 2008, Tiffany founded TST Design, a shamanic healing practice. Innately a vision caster, Tiffany saw that as witnesses and participants in the changes of our times, we need to find the soul-centered, transformative, and sustainable options that further our personal lives as well as the businesses and jobs that support those lives. In this endeavor, she took the opportunity to add her skills from her time corporate, non-profit and education to her training in ancient and contemporary studies of consciousness transformation and energy healing for individuals and systems. Tiffany practices shamanic healing in the tradition of the Laika Earthkeepers (the high shaman priests and ancestors of the Incas) in Peru and bases her executive coaching in the same tradition. She specializes in helping people, individually and in teams, to move the things that are stopping them out of their way. She works to help individuals, organizations and groups understand strategies to continue growth and expansion - to reclaim their passion and begin their lives anew. Her credentials include a Master's degree in Higher Education, Leadership and Administration, and a B.A. in English Literature, with a minor in French History. She also holds a Master certification in Healing the Light Body from The Four Winds Society and is a participant in their Sage Program.
